Parent/Child Counseling

The Full Story
Adolescents often struggle with changes in the family or shifts in relationships because they haven't yet developed the coping strategies that adults have. During these challenging times, it's crucial to offer them support and guidance.
Often, what appears to be a problem with the child may actually be rooted in issues within the family, especially before they reach their early teens. It's important for parents to seek help either before or alongside their child. There are times when a child might feel too ashamed or unsafe to share their feelings with a parent present. In these cases, it’s beneficial for the child to have a safe space to explore and process their emotions with a counselor they can trust.
Building a strong working relationship with the child's parents or caregivers is key to successful counseling. We require proper permission from parents to involve them in the process. Creating a supportive environment at home is just as crucial as the work done in counseling. When parents and family members strive to understand the underlying issues, they help lay a strong foundation for the child's relational success. Keeping a close connection with your child is essential—when you have their heart, you'll be aware of everything happening in their life.
